Incrosaflos

Swords in the incrosa position; from Fiore de'i Liberi's Flos Duellatorum manuscript (1409)

Incrosa, also known as the bind, is the position at which both opponents have delivered their initial blows, and the swords have crossed. In Fiorean longsword, all plays begin with some sort of incrosa position and accelerate from that; through Zogho Largo if the combatants are crossed at the punta of the sword, and through Zogho Stretto if they are crossed at the forte (strong) or mezza spada (middle of the blade).
